LYC London is a predominantly gay badminton and tennis sports club. Everyone is welcome regardless of their ability. Look around to find out more or just come along to one of our weekly sessions.
Long Yang London is an LGBT badminton and tennis club.
LYC was founded in the mid 1980s as an international social club for East and West to meet. The club quickly established itself on the London scene as a friendly and welcoming social organising dinners and parties. In the 1990’s, LYC’s weekly Sunday night karaoke and social night became well known and much loved; its Bank Holiday parties were legendary!
In recent years, and with changing attitudes, LYC has now evolved into a sports club. Set up almost 15 years ago for the benefit of members of LYC who just liked to play a social game, our badminton and tennis clubs now encourage play at all levels. The badminton group has established a credible and winning league team from its more senior members and its annual tournament is an established part of the badminton calendar in the UK for all-comers.
It’s a great place to enjoy the company of others and an even greater place to share a drink or a meal after playing, as we continue to bring people together.
